Michigan is trending toward landing Notre Dame’s top commitment, safety Ivan Taylor.

When Florida State safety Ivan Taylor committed to Notre Dame football last December, it looked like he was going to keep his verbal pledge.

Now, fast forward to the present, and that might not necessarily be the case: The 6-foot-tall, 175-pound player took official visits to Alabama and Michigan in June, as well as one to South Bend.

Unfortunately, only one visit to Ann Arbor swayed Taylor’s interest away from the Irish: On Sunday, Taylor, the No. 50 prospect in the nation in the 247Sports Composite rankings, was predicted to commit to the Wolverines by Tom Roy and Sam Webb.

To make matters worse, the folks at 247Sports aren’t the only ones who think this way; On3’s Steve Wiltfong echoed the sentiment.

FONG BOMB: On3 translation: Experts have projected that Michigan will land four-star safety Ivan Taylor from Notre Dame.

Taylor is ranked 59th in the NATL (7th in the SAF) in the 2025 class.

This would be a huge blow to the Irish, as Taylor is the top-ranked commit in the class of 2025. Hopefully the officials are wrong, but the chances of an upset are increasing.
