A 23-year-old man fell victim to a parcel scam. ₹1.2 million rupees. The case was reported to the Cyber ​​Crime police in Hyderabad. Officials said the victim received a call from someone claiming to be a FedEx employee, who told him that his Aadhaar number had been misused.

The man lost ₹12 lakh to the fraudsters.

He was informed that someone was using his Aadhaar number to send a courier carrying 5 kg of diabetes medicine and 50 grams of MDMA from Mumbai to Saudi Arabia. The fraudsters then pretended to be calling from Mumbai Cyber ​​Crime. They threatened the victim over Skype video calls and demanded that he send money to “verify the details”, The Hindu reported.

The news agency further reported that the victim was coerced into transferring funds under the pretense of “investigative purposes” despite being willing to cooperate with the investigation to prove his innocence.
