A 23-year-old man fell victim to a parcel scam. ₹1.2 million rupees. The case was reported to the Cyber Crime police in Hyderabad. Officials said the victim received a call from someone claiming to be a FedEx employee, who told him that his Aadhaar number had been misused.
He was informed that someone was using his Aadhaar number to send a courier carrying 5 kg of diabetes medicine and 50 grams of MDMA from Mumbai to Saudi Arabia. The fraudsters then pretended to be calling from Mumbai Cyber Crime. They threatened the victim over Skype video calls and demanded that he send money to “verify the details”, The Hindu reported.
The news agency further reported that the victim was coerced into transferring funds under the pretense of “investigative purposes” despite being willing to cooperate with the investigation to prove his innocence. Previously, a man from Thane was caught up in a Tinder scam; ₹40,000. A man who was hoping for a fun date was deceived by his date and the restaurant. He took the woman to her favorite restaurant, only to receive a shocking bill of 40,000 yen. ₹44,829.

When he saw the amount on the bill, he called the police to the restaurant; ₹$4,000.
