Lohar reacted quickly, grabbing the snake and biting it twice, powerful enough to kill it. The move stems from a local legend that says you can reverse the effects of the snake’s venom by biting back, according to a report by The Times of India.
Luckily, Lohar’s colleagues rushed him to Rajauri District Hospital, where Dr Satish Chandra Sinha reportedly treated him. Lohar remained in the hospital overnight for observation and was discharged on Wednesday.
Sinha confirmed that Lohar responded well to treatment, but the specific species of snake that bit the railway employee remains unclear.
