If the employment data indicates easing in the labour market and a slowdown in the economy, it could lead to an interest rate cut by the Fed in September. Hence, this data should be approached with caution. With Sensex at 80000, there is no reassuring valuation in the market. Investors can expect only moderate returns in the medium term at current levels. The long term outlook is certainly brighter and hence investors can continue with systematic investments. Asset allocation based on risk tolerance should be the strategy at this stage in the market.”
