Trey McNutt Scouting Overview
On3’s scouting and rankings team wrote the following about McNutt’s potential:
“Long-range safety candidate with ability to get downhill and be a force player in the run game, can play centerfield as a single-high safety or match up man-to-man in the slot. Very versatile in the secondary at the next level and beyond. Physical, violent player who isn’t afraid to stick his head in traffic and make plays around the line of scrimmage. Great burst and trigger off the backpedal. Great ability to read and diagnose what the offense is doing in front of him.”
““I’d like to see more from him in terms of ball production, but he has good ball skills and the ability to put the ball up in the air. He has a size that will easily develop in a collegiate strength and conditioning program, and he has great potential.”
