Finding a life partner may be very important, but sometimes the game of cricket takes priority. A Bangalore-based techie learned this the hard way when he messaged a woman on a match-making platform only to be given the cold shoulder by her cricket-loving father.
Rahul, a 28-year-old software engineer from Bengaluru, messaged a woman named Priyanka on Shaadi.com. After introducing himself, Rahul revealed his impressive salary package. ₹He told her he earned 700,000 rupees a year and politely ended his message with, “I think we’d be a great match.”
“Hi, I am Rahul, a software engineer from Bangalore. I saw your daughter’s profile on Shaadi.com. Currently her CTC is 70LPA and I think we are a great match,” he wrote.
Rahul received a response from Priyanka’s father, who told him he would be able to speak more after the match.

A screenshot of the exchange was posted by Rahul’s cousin Naina on X. Within a day, the screenshot had garnered over half a million views on the social media platform, sparking much laughter among viewers.

Meanwhile, unbeaten India and South Africa will face off in the T20 World Cup final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados tonight and it is safe to assume that talks of a Rahul-Priyanka rishta will only resume once the nail-biting final is over and one of them lifts the trophy.
