Blinkit, an online grocery delivery platform, has won hearts on social media after its small gestures caught the attention of its customers: A customer who ordered goods from a hospital noticed that once Blinkit knew his location, the company sent him and his family a heartfelt congratulatory message.
“A little touch from Blinkit has made my day. While I was placing an order from the hospital, the following message appeared on the Blinkit UI: ‘Your order is from the hospital. Heartfelt congratulations to you and your loved one’. This is a negligible small thing among thousands of customers, but it can brighten the mood of someone who has been hospitalized for the last few days. It’s great to see a company go beyond the transaction and show genuine care for its customers,” Prabhat Motwani wrote in the post. One person wrote, “I remember ordering from Swiggy when I was in the hospital and the restaurant was closed. The restaurant owner called me and asked me to wait as there was no delivery person available. Someone from the restaurant would deliver it on their way home.”
Another post read, “A few weeks ago, I was in hospital and ordered some products from Blingkit inside the hospital. The delivery boy couldn’t come to my room due to the hospital security, but as I was talking on the phone, he heard my voice and knew I was in a bad state. Eventually, he convinced the security guards and he came to my room with one of them. On his way out, he spoke some comforting words to me that brought me to tears. I always say it’s the little things in life that matter and this was definitely one of them!” (Related article: Blingkit listens to Mumbai man’s mother’s suggestion and serves up free veggie dhaniyas; CEO Albinder Dhindsa shares on X)
“Indian businesses are slowly but surely moving towards customer centricity. Zomato/Blinkit have never disappointed us with these efforts and are raising the bar day by day. We are grateful for such kind gestures and hope more businesses follow suit and join,” commented a third.
