The Franklin Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Greater Franklin Chamber of Commerce, is launching a new pilot program aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among youth under the age of 18.

The initiative aims to support aspiring young entrepreneurs and enable them to realize their creative business ideas. The Foundation will award successful candidates with grants of $500 to fund their entrepreneurial projects. The grants are intended to help with essential start-up costs so that young entrepreneurs can develop their business concepts and gain valuable experience in the entrepreneurial world, the Foundation announced.

“We are excited to support the next generation of business leaders through this pilot program,” Rosie Chambers, president and CEO of the Franklin Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement about the new program. “Our goal is to provide young people with the tools and resources they need to turn their ideas into reality, instilling the confidence and business acumen that will serve them well in the future.”

The pilot program is open to all Johnson County residents under the age of 18. Applicants must submit an application outlining their project, its sustainability and potential impact on the community. A committee made up of local business leaders and members of the Franklin Chamber of Commerce Foundation will review the applications and select the most promising projects, according to the Franklin Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

Applications for the pilot program are currently being accepted and will be accepted through Aug. 5. Interested individuals can find more information and apply online at franklincoc.org/news.

Funding for the pilot program will be provided through foundation donations and fundraising efforts.

For more information about donating to the Foundation or questions about the pilot program, please contact Chambers. [email protected] or call 317-736-6334.
