Columbia, Maryland, June 28, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–BigBear.ai (NYSE: BBAI), a leader in AI-powered defense and enterprise intelligence solutions, today announced it has been invited to combat test its AI orchestration at the edge capabilities at the Department of Defense (DoD) RDER Technology Readiness Experiment 2024 event in August.
The Department of Defense’s T-REX-24-2 is an exclusive live-fire, full-scale event and a key demonstration and evaluation event for advanced military technologies. T-REX-24-2 will be held Aug. 19-29 as part of the Department of Defense’s Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve (RDER). T-REX events will conduct full-scale evaluations of innovative defense technologies to gauge their effectiveness and capabilities based on the needs of the joint force.
BigBear.ai’s focus at T-REX is on the critical need for AI and data orchestration in complex edge environments like the battlefield. During military operations, massive amounts of real-time data are generated from a variety of sources, including sensors, weapon systems, and communications platforms. To transform the data into action, these data sources must be manually integrated with centralized computing resources for AI processing. The result is a costly and brittle set of solutions that operate in silos, are cumbersome to evolve, and fail to drive action with the immediacy required on the battlefield.
