The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) held the Korea Tourism Startup Center’s (KTSC) Investor Demo Day in Singapore on Wednesday, showcasing the innovative technologies of Korea’s leading travel tech startups to key industry players in Singapore and Southeast Asia, the state-run tourism promotion agency announced on Thursday.

The three-day event, which began on Tuesday, brought together nine Korean tourism ventures with venture capital firms, investors, corporates and other stakeholders from the travel and technology industries from Singapore and Southeast Asia, creating opportunities for networking and business.

The nine companies that participated in the event were Monolith, Tripbtoz, Uniquegood Company, Eoding, Gadget Korea, NomadHer, Uniuni, K-Style Hub, and Teuida.

On the first day, a seminar on Singapore market entry strategies was held, along with a proof-of-concept session for Singapore Airlines’ new digital innovation lab, KrisLab. On the second day, an introduction to the Singapore Tourism Board’s startup program, the Singapore Tourism Accelerator, and investor relations presentations by domestic tourism startups were held. On the final day, discussions on investment and collaboration were held through one-on-one matching between nine Singapore investors and participating Korean startups.

“Since establishing KTSC in Singapore in August 2022, KTO has conducted over 670 business matching cases and assisted 10 companies in establishing corporations, attracting significant foreign investment in a short period of time,” said Kim Dong-il, vice president of KTO.

“KTO will continue to support local travel technology companies in exporting their services to strengthen connections within the startup ecosystem.”

Meanwhile, Kim met with representatives from Singapore venture capital firms specializing in tourism, including KB Fintech Lab and the Korea Venture Investment Corporation’s Singapore office, to discuss ways to build a strategic partnership with KTSC Singapore and support the global expansion of small and medium-sized tourism ventures.
