Pune-based writer Aditya Kondawar has vowed never to fly with Air India or Air India Express again after his recent experience on an Air India flight from Bengaluru to Pune. In a post on X, Kondawar said he would rather ride in a “bull cart” than an Air India flight, highlighting that the flight stank and had dirty seats. Passengers’ experience was made worse by the flight being delayed for over three hours.

“Dear @AirIndiaX, Thank you for teaching me a valuable lesson last night. I take it to heart. I will never fly Air India Express or Air India again. I will pay 100% extra if necessary but stick with an on-time airline (only 2 other options),” Kondawar wrote to X.

“I will use bullock carts but not your airline. 9.50pm, flight took off at 12.15/12.20am. Flight stinks, seats very dirty and full of stains (IX 974 BLR to Pune). My day yesterday started at 1.50am from Pune to BLR, walking through a large factory and sitting and listening to multiple interactions with management,” he wrote.

“I have enormous respect for the Tata Group and its leaders and I expect perfection from them at all times but frankly this is a disaster!” he added.

Responding to the post, Air India Express apologised to the poster and said the flight from Bengaluru to Pune was delayed for unavoidable reasons: “Hello Aditya! We apologise for the inconvenience caused due to the disruption in our flight schedule. Please be advised that your inbound flight was delayed due to reasons beyond our control. We will investigate and resolve the issue regarding your flying experience.”

A passenger who booked a business class seat on a recent business trip to Newark recounted a “horrifying experience” on the Tata-owned airline, blaming poor management of the business class cabin and claiming that he was served raw food and stale fruit.
