Baylor University fans expect the Bears to compete against the most prestigious programs in the country and to have BU finish in the top 25 each year to gain national recognition.
This is true in sports (such as the men’s basketball and women’s basketball programs currently ranked 13th and 18th, respectively) and in academics, such as Baylor University’s entrepreneurship program, which is again ranked among the best in the country according to multiple sources.
– Recent US News The rankings placed Baylor University’s undergraduate entrepreneurship program eighth in the nation, marking the 15th consecutive year the program has been in the top 10. This lofty atmosphere is promising, but maintaining a top spot takes hard work.
— Another honor came from longtime Bluebonnet Battle rival TCU, which each year measures its leadership and influence in the field through the TCU Global Entrepreneurship Research Productivity Rankings. This year, Baylor University’s School of Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation leapt to third place in the world for research output, which according to the ranking’s creators is “a key indicator of whether an entrepreneurship program is following an evidence-based approach and demonstrating thought leadership in the field.”
Looking back at recent history, it’s no surprise that Baylor University’s entrepreneurship program has made it into these elite rankings, but BU’s leadership in the field has been going since the beginning: In 1978, Baylor was one of the first universities to create a formal entrepreneurship program, and nearly 50 years later, Baylor continues to break new ground for entrepreneurial students and future business leaders.
