RXO rises after announcing acquisition of Coyote Logistics

Trucking company RXO shares rose more than 11% after the company said it would buy Coyote Logistics from UPS for more than $1 billion, a deal expected to close by the end of the year.

“This acquisition provides RXO with opportunities for near- and long-term revenue and earnings growth that will generate strong returns for our shareholders,” RXO Chief Executive Officer Drew Wilkerson said in a statement.

European Markets Start to Mixed

European stock markets started the new trading week on a mixed note on Monday as investors awaited new economic data and interest rate decisions from Europe.

The Stoxx 600 index was flat at 0.01% at the open, while sectoral and major bourses traded in the opposite direction.

Britain’s FTSE index fell 0.04% to 8,235, Germany’s DAX rose 0.21% to 18,202, France’s CAC 40 rose 0.16% to 7,640 and Italy’s FTSE MIB rose 0.5% to 33,475.

Longest period without a 2% sell-off since the financial crisis

The S&P 500’s 2.05% decline was its 377th consecutive day, the longest stretch the index has recorded since the global financial crisis, according to FactSet data compiled by CNBC.

The index has not experienced an increase of at least 2.15% in this period.
