Stock market holidays are non-weekend business days on which the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq, the two largest stock exchanges in the United States, are closed. These days tend to closely follow the federal holiday schedule and include major holidays such as Independence Day and Thanksgiving.
Normal business hours for both exchanges are Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 4pm ET. The markets are closed on weekends.
If a holiday falls on a weekend, such as on Good Friday or Easter, the stock market may be closed on the Friday before the holiday, or the holiday may fall on the following Monday.

Early closure of stock markets
The stock market typically follows a holiday schedule with the Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange closing at 1pm ET with no additional early closures except on the day before Independence Day, Black Friday and Christmas Eve.
