It’s been 21 seasons since the former Oakland Las Vegas Raiders won a postseason game. The franchise has had 11 head coaches, moved east to the Bay Area, and squandered a ton of high-value draft picks. But former NFL star turned bench boss Antonio Pierce did a great job as interim manager last season, leading the Raiders to a respectable 8-9 record, so next season will officially be Antonio Pierce’s time. With the 2024 season fast approaching, media outlet Bleacher Report has published a list of the remaining to-dos for Las Vegas to best prepare for a playoff berth next fall.
On Thursday, Matt Holder of The Breacher Report posted a piece called “To-do List for Every NFL Team for the Remaining Part of the 2024 Offseason,” which included a lengthy list of his proposed trades for the league’s 32 teams. Holder believes the framework is in place for the Raiders to make the playoffs and be ready to compete for a championship in 2024.
Bleacher Report: Las Vegas Raiders need to figure out a plan for QB room

The quarterback position remains a big question mark for the Las Vegas Raiders, who acquired point guard Jimmy Garoppolo last offseason and struggled before being released by the team after just one year of his three-year, $67.5 million contract, leaving Garoppolo benched and missing more than half the season, forcing Las Vegas to turn to fourth-round rookie Aidan O’Connell.
The Purdue product played well as a rookie, but 12 touchdowns against seven interceptions in 10 starts doesn’t make him an elite passer in today’s NFL. Naturally, the Raiders acquired free agent quarterback Gardner Minshew, who is coming off a Pro Bowl season. The two passers will likely compete for the starting spot in the offseason. However, Bleacher Report suggests the Raiders will have a solid training camp plan in place to get the best performance out of both passers.
“So the coaching staff needs to develop a strategy that builds the team’s starting lineup and gives each quarterback ample opportunity to win the position,” says Matt Holder of Bleacher Report. It makes sense for the Raiders to flesh out their plans for their quarterbacks, giving them ample opportunity to impress in training camp and build rapport with teammates.
The Raiders need to look at depth at three key positions

Bleacher Report touches on Las Vegas’ current quarterback position, but also highlights that the team needs to make moves to add depth at three critical positions of need. According to Bleacher Report’s Matt Holder, the three most important positions for depth this offseason are cornerback, defensive tackle and offensive tackle. The Las Vegas Raiders’ cornerback duo of Jacque Jones and Ja’Corian Bennett is solid, but inexperience and depth remain issues. Holder suggests that adding a veteran player could help the team level up. How about Adoree Jackson?
Holder also thinks a veteran addition behind offensive tackles Andrus Peat and Kolton Miller would be a welcome addition. There are other players still available, such as two-time All-Pro David Bakhtiari and Pro Bowler DJ Humphries. But Holder has taken a different approach to the team’s defensive tackle needs, proposing a younger player as a backup behind the aging John Jenkins. Unfortunately, finding a young backup seems like a pipe dream, at least until the roster is trimmed down later in the offseason.
