Among the top gainers were Jyoti Structures (up 4.98%), Gujarat Industries Power Company (up 4.48%), India Power Corporation (up 2.04%), Newon Towers (up 0.41%), NLC India (up 0.34%), Hitachi Energy India (up 0.22%) and Karma Energy (up 0.13%).
Top losers on the day included Ratan India Power (down 4.75%), KEC International (down 4.21%), Inox Wind (down 3.60%), GE Power India (down 3.31%), Indwind Energy (down 2.51%), Suzlon Energy (down 2.13%), Tata Power Company (down 2.07%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures (down 2.07%), India Tech Transformers (down 2.03%) and Power and Instrumentation (Gujarat) (down 2.02%).
The NSE Nifty50 index fell 41.91 points to end at 23,516.0, while the 30-stock BSE Sensex rose 36.45 points to end at 77,337.59.
HDFC Bank Ltd. (up 3.12 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd. (up 2.92 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd. (up 1.93 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (up 1.59 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (up 1.35 per cent), State Bank of India (up 0.92 per cent), Infosys Ltd. (up 0.88 per cent), Wipro Ltd. (up 0.8 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (up 0.72 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd. (up 0.61 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. Meanwhile, Titan Company (down 3.53%), Larsen & Toubro (down 2.7%), Maruti Suzuki India (down 2.54%), Bharti Airtel (down 2.53%), Hindalco Industries (down 2.41%), Bharat Petroleum (down 2.4%), Bajaj Auto (down 2.35%), Coal India (down 2.27%), NTPC (down 1.94%) and Tata Consumer Products (down 1.9%) ended lower.
