Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El-Sayed El-Khosayel met with Kraft Heinz Global’s Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors William Berlin and a technical delegation from the company, along with Director General of the Agricultural Research Center Adel Abdel-Azim and other senior ministry officials, to discuss ways to strengthen Kraft Heinz’s investments in Egypt.
During the meeting, El Khosayer stressed that Egypt welcomes foreign agricultural investment and encourages collaboration with the private sector. He highlighted Egypt’s promising investment environment and the need to focus on increasing value addition, boosting agro-processing and reducing crop losses.
El Khosair instructed ministry leaders to help Heinz develop new processed tomato varieties and conduct the necessary trials for different agricultural seasons across Egypt.
The Agriculture Minister stressed the importance of adhering to global market requirements, quality standards and food safety practices, and encouraged contract farming with local farmers and market-driven price adjustments.
Company officials expressed satisfaction with the meeting and indicated their desire to take advantage of the current favorable investment environment and expand Kraft Heinz’s investments in Egypt.
Kraft Heinz Global has been operating in Egypt since 1991 with a total investment of approximately 7 billion Egyptian pounds.
