The Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship has partnered with GrowthX to accelerate revenue growth for local startups and provide Golisano Institute students with hands-on opportunities to develop go-to-market skills and build job networks with startups.
Through its Revenue Accelerator program, GrowthX will work with select Western New York-based startups within the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship campus center.
GrowthX is a 16-week entrepreneurial sales program that has helped nearly 250 B2B startups across 60 cities achieve real revenue outcomes.
The Revenue Accelerator’s first cohort will launch on July 8th, with no equity and no fees for selected founders.
Participating companies will also have full access to Golisano’s Campus Center, including a soon-to-open Innovation Hub that will bring together business and AI.
“GrowthX is investing their time and energy in a city that is experiencing rapid growth,” said Ian Mortimer, president of the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship. “Rochester certainly has all the ingredients to thrive economically, and this partnership will allow our students to get actively involved and build networks that will lead to great professional opportunities. We teach business skills and continually practice those skills, so this partnership is a great fit and should result in great opportunities for our students.”
Added Tom Golisano, the school’s founder: “The investment landscape has changed significantly since the pandemic. The free flow of capital to early-stage companies has, for the most part, been replaced by a need for more evidence-based revenue and sales to make companies investment eligible. The Golisano Institute’s Revenue Accelerator will be unique nationally and will increase the infusion of venture capital into Western New York.”
Applications are open from now until July 1. Eligible startup founders who would like to learn more about the program can visit the program website, sign up for a virtual Q&A session on June 4, and apply at: growthx.com/founders/golisano-institute/.
