Cherki joined Lyon’s first team as a 16-year-old in 2019 and has made 140 appearances for the French club, scoring 17 goals and providing 24 assists.
Chelsea and Newcastle have previously been rumoured to be interested in the youngster. However, recent reports about his future suggest their interest has waned.

Liverpool and Tottenham join race to sign Ryan Scherke
According to French media Sports Zone, Cherki It is said that his chances of leaving Lyon this summer are “increasing”, with Liverpool and Tottenham interested.
The Premier League sides have been in “contact” about a potential transfer and are said to be “in the early stages of considering signing the attacker”, while Newcastle have “been linked with a transfer for some time”.
Cherki is now considering his options as he looks to take the next step in his promising career.
His potential has never been in doubt, but since Laurent Blanc was fired last year, it has been difficult for him to find a consistent role in Lyon’s team.
Reports suggest that €25m (around £21.3m) would be enough to land Cherki this season and if he fulfils his potential this could be a real bargain.
It will be interesting to see whether Liverpool or Tottenham make a concrete offer for the Lyon star in the coming weeks.
He is a versatile player who can play as an attacking midfielder or on either wing, meaning he could cover multiple areas for both clubs.
Both Liverpool and Tottenham are looking to sign a new winger this summer and in theory a move for Cherki would make sense.
