Names inspired by Bridgerton and Taylor Swift ranked among the top “inspired names” searches in the US over the past year.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Google has released new data showing the most searched baby names across the U.S. in the first half of this year.
According to Google, “Bridgerton inspired names” and “Taylor Swift inspired names” have been top-ranking “inspired names” searches over the past year, while the letters “P, A, V” rank highly for “baby names starting with…”
Here in Kentucky, the top baby name search so far in 2024 is “Avery,” while in Indiana it’s “River.”
However, “Freya” is currently the most searched baby name in the US, according to Google.

Last year, the most popular baby names in America were Liam and Olivia.
Olivia remains the most popular girls’ name for the fifth year in a row, while Liam has held the top spot as a boys’ name for the seventh year in a row. According to data from the Social Security Administration, there were 20,802 babies named Liam and 15,270 babies named Olivia in 2023.
We’ll find out around Mother’s Day next year what the most popular baby names will be for the whole of 2024.
