Recently, Anheuser-Busch announced a $15.5 million investment in its Fort Collins brewery to upgrade its bottling line from packed glass to bulk glass. Switching from packed glass will enable Fort Collins to streamline in-house production, strengthen its supply chain, reduce emissions and increase efficiency across its operations. The Fort Collins brewery’s enhanced bottling line is expected to be fully operational by summer 2024.
“Investing in the communities where our employees live and work is part of who we are,” said Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth. “This investment in our Fort Collins brewery not only improves our operational efficiency and facility capabilities, it also uniquely positions Anheuser-Busch to further strengthen our industry-leading employee support, including on-the-job training and growth opportunities for our frontline employees.”
“Converting our bottling line from a packed glass to a bulk glass system will allow our brewery to increase the efficiency of our beer production,” said Tim Seitz, general manager of Anheuser-Busch Fort Collins Brewery. “Strengthening our brewery’s infrastructure also strengthens our capabilities as brewers, providing our employees with the opportunity to learn new technical skills and personally contribute to the innovation and growth of our company.”
Over the past five years, Anheuser-Busch has invested nearly $2 billion in facilities across the U.S., fostering economic prosperity in the communities where it operates and where its employees live. The brewer’s ongoing investments ensure the long-term growth and viability of its facilities, with spending adding unique capabilities, improving efficiency and output and funding additional infrastructure projects. Across the U.S., Anheuser-Busch operates more than 120 facilities, including flagship and regional craft breweries and agricultural facilities across 24 states.
“Anheuser-Busch has been a longtime community partner and we are pleased the company has invested in our Fort Collins brewery,” said Fort Collins Mayor Jeni Arndt. “In a state that values innovation and sustainability, we are pleased to see Anheuser-Busch growing its capabilities in a way that positively impacts the local community and reinforces their commitment to operating sustainably.”
In Colorado, Anheuser-Busch employs more than 1,000 people and an additional 600 work as part of the company’s network of independent distributors. Anheuser-Busch’s operations in Colorado have generated more than $1.4 billion in capital investment and are a significant contributor to the state’s economic growth.
The Fort Collins brewery is one of two facilities canning clean, safe drinking water for Anheuser-Busch’s Emergency Drinking Water Program. Since launching the Emergency Drinking Water Program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesale partners have worked with organizations such as the American Red Cross (ARC) and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) to provide more than 93 million cans of emergency drinking water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters and other crises.
