The Milwaukee Brewers signed Rhys Hoskins to a two-year, $34 million contract last offseason. The contract also includes a mutual option for a third year. Hoskins played for the Philadelphia Phillies until now, but did not play in 2023 due to a season-ending ACL injury suffered during spring training. This year, Hoskins is expected to return from the 10-day disabled list in time to face his former team.
Rhys Hoskins was a very productive hitter for the Philadelphia Phillies.
Rhys Hoskins was selected by the Phillies in the fifth round of the 2014 MLB Draft and made his major league debut in 2017. He played in 50 games that year and finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting. Over the next five seasons, he had an OPS+ above 100 in each year and an OPS above .800 just once (.794 in 2022).
For the Milwaukee Brewers, Rhys Hoskins picked up where he left off.
Despite sitting out 2023, Rhys Hoskins has not shown any signs of slowing down in 2024. In his first year with the Brewers, he is currently slashing .233/.340/.474/.813 with nine homers and 27 RBI. His power in the lineup and ability to get on base would make him a great addition to Milwaukee.
Rhys Hoskins is currently out with a hamstring injury but is expected to return in time for the series against the Philadelphia Phillies.

On May 14, the Brewers placed Rhys Hoskins on the 10-day disabled list with a hamstring injury. The injury occurred after taking a hit and he grabbed the back of his leg as he stood up. He was initially expected to be out for 2-4 weeks, but Sophia Minert said he expects to be back by June 3 to face his former team.
Brewers injury update:
• Jacob Junis will throw bullpen pitches today and then do a walk-on workout in Arizona before returning to Nashville for a rehab assignment.
• JB Bukauskas is scheduled to pitch out of the bullpen on Friday.
• Rhys Hoskins has made strides with his running in the field and could be ready in time for the series against the Phillies.— Sophia Minnaert (@SophiaMinnaert) May 28, 2024
