Manchester United star ‘hurt’ by manager Ten Hag and set to leave, Ratcliffe sets price, Saudi club ‘open to investment’

Casemiro is reportedly facing interest from three Saudi Arabian clubs and is set to leave Manchester United this summer.

The Brazilian midfielder joined the Red Devils from Real Madrid in August 2022 for a fee believed to be around £70 million, including add-ons.

His first year at Old Trafford was excellent, helping the club finish third in the Premier League and win the Carabao Cup.

However, Casemiro has no hope whatsoever for the 2023/24 season.

Manchester United are reportedly open to selling the former Real Madrid star after a struggling second season in England.

Manager Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly unhappy with the club’s decision to sign Casemiro for a big transfer fee and a long-term, lucrative contract, so the midfielder will be working hard this summer to recoup his money.

A bailout from a club in Saudi Arabia is very likely and Ratcliffe would welcome an offer from the Middle East.

Man U: Casemiro ‘top target’ for Saudi Arabian club

According to reports in Brazil, the 32-year-old is “expected to leave” the Red Devils in the summer transfer window, with “three teams” in Saudi Arabia “targeting him.”

Casemiro is said to be “out of the plans of the English club” and has his sights set on a professional league in Saudi Arabia, with transfer “meetings” scheduled.

He is “one of the league’s top targets” and “offers are expected to come in the near future.” Clubs keen to sign Casemiro include Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nasr, Al Ahly and Al Qassidiya.

The player has had a poor season at United so Al Nasr are “taking a step back” while Al Ahly and Al Qassidiya have shown “stronger interest”.

The two parties are “ready to invest” and could offer the Brazilian a higher weekly wage than he currently earns at Old Trafford, thought to be around £350,000.

Another reason for Al Nasr’s lack of interest is that they already have Marcelo Brozovic as their ‘first choice’ defensive midfield player and may choose to spend their funds elsewhere.

The Saudi Arabian club has huge funds at its disposal but Ronaldo’s team are said to have been ‘adamant’ after United demanded £23.5million for the Brazilian international.

Ten Hag ‘hurts’ Man U star over FA Cup final decision

The report adds that Manchester United officials will “hold a meeting to decide the midfielder’s future” and that the meeting is “expected to bring an end to the relationship between the club and the player.”

And the club insist there are “no limits” to keeping Casemiro, regardless of who the manager is next season.

Casemiro may ask to leave if under-criticised manager Erik ten Hag stays, having been “hurt” by the Dutchman’s decision to leave him out of last weekend’s FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Ten Hag claimed the player was not 100%, which was reportedly not the case, resulting in a drop in Casemiro’s morale.
