The Inampudi siblings and their spouses are bringing Paris Baguette to Indian Land, South Carolina.
Starting a business has always been a dream Chaitanya Inampudi And her brother VenkataTwo brothers from poor families in India, along with their spouses, cherished a dream for education and career, and now, with the support of their families, that dream is becoming a reality. Paris Baguette* Indian Land, South Carolina.
Their path to entrepreneurship was one of perseverance. After completing their education, Chaitanya went into banking and Prakash specialised in data architecture, while Venkata ventured into the automotive industry and his wife Kalpana went into pharmaceuticals.
As the years went by, the brothers continued to harbor ambitions of becoming business owners, but the timing just never seemed right. It wasn’t until early last year that they began to seriously consider their options. As they looked into various franchise opportunities, Paris Baguette It really stood out as something special.
1851 Franchise spoke to Chaitanya about the team’s franchising journey and future plans.
1851 Franchise: Tell us your personal story. What were you doing before franchising and how did you decide that franchising was something that made sense for you?
Chaitanya: We were born in India to very humble families. All four of us studied in India and came here for our masters and work. We have always dreamed of starting a business. I did my MBA in Finance in India. I work in investment banking now and my husband Prakash is an expert data architect building technology platforms for retail and insurance. My brother Venkata also has an MBA from Emory University and works as an analytics consultant in the automotive industry. My wife Kalpana works as a statistical programming manager for a pharmaceutical company. So we all have a background in mathematics and finance. We always wanted to do something on our own. But it takes a long time for two families to come together in terms of timing, financial readiness and gaining corporate experience. Early last year, we started looking for opportunities to find something that excites us. We looked at a lot of franchises and some were interesting but nothing like Paris Baguette. The ultimate goal is to bring the business mindset and culture to our family.
1851: What was your perception of franchising before you became a franchisee, and now that you’re involved, what do you want people to know about franchising?
Chaitanya: Initially, we had some ideas that we could start ourselves. The perception of franchises was, “Oh, they’re going to charge a lot of money on royalties and marketing and stuff, so why should I work so hard and pay them?” But in the process of exploring these ideas, we realized that there is no template when it comes to coming up with a concept. It’s much harder to come up with your own template and get everything going. So, we started thinking differently. We decided that it’s okay to end up paying a little bit because successful franchisors are there for a reason. They’ve mastered something to get into the market and they’ve achieved something in the market.
1851: Why did you choose this brand and what excites you most about this company?
Venkata: We did some homework before narrowing our focus After visiting several branches of Paris Baguette, we discovered that it is not only a foodie’s paradise, but also a visual feast with an enjoyable experience suited to all ages. The ambience and attention to quality is truly outstanding, offering a promising and profitable path for aspiring entrepreneurs. Furthermore, Their parent companies are quite strong both financially and in terms of the market they have dominated for many years.
1851: What do you want to achieve with your business? What are your plans for growth?
Venkata: We have no experience in this field at all, so with our first store, we want to learn as much as we can. There are so many steps in the process, so right now our goal is just to be successful with our first store, although we do have plans to expand in the future.
1851: What do you want us to know about your story?
Venkata: Dreams have no expiration date. We had thought about owning a business for a long time, but it was all about persistence.
1851: What advice do you have for people considering becoming a franchise owner?
Venkata: If you feel passionate about it, go for it, but it’s not easy. You have to work hard. So it’s not enough to just think you can make money, you also need passion and the determination to work really hard for a reasonable amount of time.
