The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will be closed today in observance of a public holiday. The over-the-counter market and the U.S. Treasury bond market will also be closed.
The bond market also closed early at 2 p.m. Eastern time ahead of the Friday holiday.

The London Stock Exchange will be closed for Memorial Day, but not for today’s spring bank holiday in the UK.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange, Shanghai Stock Exchange, Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Frankfurt Stock Exchange and Paris Stock Exchange will trade on Monday.
What do you celebrate on Memorial Day?
According to the Department of Defense, Memorial Day is celebrated in the United States on the last Monday of May each year to commemorate those who died while serving in the U.S. military. The Department of Defense points out that while Memorial Day commemorates those who made the ultimate sacrifice, Veterans Day, celebrated in November, honors the service of all U.S. veterans.
Non-essential federal offices, post offices, U.S. courts and banks will also be closed Monday.
