The club’s ‘Player of the Season’ wants a £35m move to the Reds

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Fulham star Antonee Robinson, who has refused to deny rumours of a big-money move to Anfield.

Robinson has improved his form since last season and is enjoying a fantastic season in the Premier League, with the left-back making 37 league appearances and although he has not scored a goal, he has provided six assists for his teammates.

Robinson has been one of Marco Silva’s best players this season, helping Fulham finish 13th in the Premier League.

Robinson is a likely candidate for Fulham’s official Player of the Season award. AthleticHowever, they have already named Robinson Fulham’s Player of the Season.

In a recent interview, the 26-year-old was asked about the new five-year contract he signed last summer, which did not end speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool.

“I signed the contract because I’m very happy at Fulham,” Robinson said. “I want to keep improving, I feel very at home here and I love the club. It wasn’t a difficult decision to sign. There’s been a lot of interest from others…”

“Obviously, if there’s someone who wants me enough to pay Fulham what they want and if Fulham think it’s a good idea, then I’ll go.”

“But until that happens, and I don’t know if that will happen, I’m just looking forward to the Copa and then next year against Fulham and trying to go further and help the team get even better in the table.”

Liverpool transfer: Antonee Robinson discusses future

It was claimed in March that Liverpool had already held talks with Robinson’s representatives about a potential transfer.

The Reds are reportedly willing to pay the £35million required to land the flying full-back, but will need to act quickly this summer with Manchester City also interested.

At left-back, Liverpool can already count on Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas and Joe Gomez, with Gomez stepping in and thriving when Robertson was sidelined through injury and Tsimikas was uncertain.

However, Gomez is generally seen as a centre-back or right-back, meaning Liverpool need to bring in a new left-back to complement Robertson, and Robinson would be the perfect addition as he already boasts plenty of top-flight experience.

With Robertson now 30 years old, Robinson, who plays for the United States on the international stage, could eventually be Robertson’s successor at left back.

Robinson also spoke about several other aspects of his career, including his rise through the Premier League ranks.

“I’m feeling a lot more confident in myself,” he said. “I can do well at this level. I still have some things to work on, but Marco understands that very well.”

“I’ve improved in a lot of areas, but mainly it’s more experience and maturity and feeling more comfortable in the league.”
