IIM Bangalore has introduced an online undergraduate programme in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship, for which the application deadline is June 15th.
The three-year Bachelor of Business Administration in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship (BBA DBE) programme aims to blend digital technology, business management and entrepreneurial skills to prepare people for leadership roles in the digital business sector.
The curriculum will focus on digital strategy and entrepreneurship principles and will offer interactive live sessions, mentorship opportunities and hands-on projects to impart practical knowledge. The program will launch with around 1,000 students and offer around 60 courses overseen by a team of more than 50 faculty members.
Program goals
The goal of the program is to promote inclusivity and allow people from diverse backgrounds and locations to pursue their educational goals without having to relocate or experience significant disruption to their daily lives.
It aims to blend digital learning with face-to-face interaction, foster a vibrant community and advance students’ professional development. It will be primarily conducted online, but students will be required to take proctored exams at designated centers.
What are the eligibility criteria?
Students who have secured a minimum of 60 percent marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in the recognized board examinations for general category and NC-OBC and EWS category candidates and have a pass certificate from a recognized class 10th or class 12th board will be considered eligible for this course.
Meanwhile, for SC, ST and PwD candidates, 55 percent marks or equivalent CGPA will be the mandatory eligibility criteria.
This program is currently open to Indian citizens only.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their aptitude test through an online aptitude test and their class 12th marks.
Course Structure
The course is a one-year certificate in digital business and entrepreneurship, consisting of 22 courses and 45 credits. The fee for the certificate course is Rs 1,25,000. The two-year diploma programme consists of 21 courses, 45 credits and has a fee of Rs 1,50,000. The three-year degree programme includes 17 courses, 45 credits and has a fee of Rs 1,75,000.
