Walmart announced the 10th anniversary of its “Walmart Open Call” initiative, which offers businesses of all sizes the chance to get a breakthrough by selling their products at the major retailer.
Walmart continues to lead the effort to help American entrepreneurs get their products on retail shelves.
To celebrate nearly a decade of investing in communities across the country, the company announced the 10-year anniversary of its Walmart Open Call initiative, which offers businesses of all sizes the chance to get their big break by selling their products at major retailers, according to the company’s website.
“Walmart believes in making a difference on the issues our customers and communities care about,” the company said in a statement. “We believe that supporting more American manufacturing will create more American jobs. Making American production more affordable and viable allows us to offer our customers more products that are made, grown and assembled in America, and manufacturers can create more jobs here in the United States.”
Through Open Call, Walmart is on a mission to help entrepreneurs grow not only their business but also their manufacturing base in the U.S. Walmart Open Call events, run by ECRM and RangeMe, are events where small businesses can partner with the company to expand the entrepreneurs’ reach to millions of customers.
“We built the Walmart Marketplace platform to make it easy to integrate your catalog, manage orders and provide customer care,” the brand continues. “Once approved to sell on the marketplace, you’ll be able to take advantage of an ecosystem of innovative solutions designed to sell with confidence and grow a successful business on Walmart.com.”
To be considered and approved for sale, eligible business owners must have a track record of success in marketplaces or e-commerce, be able to manage a catalog, and have access to a variety of products with standard product identifiers such as the International Trade Item Number (GITN) or Universal Product Code (UPC).
