We discuss the most successful MLB players over the past month.

It’s easy for fantasy team owners to form an opinion about a player by looking at their stats over an entire season. While it gives you the big picture, looking at the entire season can cause you to miss players who have been trending upward recently.

So today I decided to look at some statistics from the last 30 days to see which players were selected.

Top Hitter

Over the past 30 days, the San Diego Padres lead the league with 39 hits. The Philadelphia Phillies, Kansas City Royals and San Diego are tied for second with 36 hits each.

Arraez isn’t a power hitter (he recently hit his first home run), but he does have some of the best hitting numbers. He’ll be a big addition to the lineup in San Diego and should be in your fantasy lineup every time he starts. Lack of power is one big reason, but there may be a bit more available in a trade than you’d think.

Bohm has been great all season and is currently one of the best fantasy options in the game. He has more power than Arraez but only five home runs on the season. Bohm is an attractive trade asset and if what your fantasy team is missing is a big bopper (who has a much lower average), you could potentially acquire him.

Profar continues to have his best season with the Padres, but with a sub-.250 batting average this season, it’s hard not to think his production will drop off at some point. Profar is a waiver wire acquisition in most leagues, but if you want to sell high on him you could trade him for some pretty solid fantasy assets right now.

Garcia was a surprise name among the hitting leaders. His career percentage is 87%, so there are probably some people who can acquire him for free today. Garcia had a poor start to the season, but he is gradually approaching last season’s numbers. He has already hit a lot of home runs and is looking to have a great season overall. Get him on waivers or in a trade before his fantasy value rises any more.

Over the past 30 days, the Houston Astros lead the league with 12 home runs, the New York Yankees are second with 11 and the Baltimore Orioles are third with nine.

All three are among the best fantasy hitters in the game, as shown in the Fantasy SP Trade Value Chart. It will take some work to acquire them, but if you can make something happen (without paying too much), it will definitely be worth it. Check out the FSP Trade Analyzer to find some good offers.

Bohm leads the league with 27 RBIs over the past 30 days. The Cleveland Guardians are second with 26 and the Oakland Athletics are third with 25.

Ramirez is also one of the top fantasy options in the game, currently sitting at 12th on the trade value chart. He’s having a slightly down season compared to normal, so his availability in a trade may be higher than you think. Give him a shot to see if you can get one of the best fantasy hitters at a bargain price.

Rooker will also be one of the surprise names for many here. He’s owned by 93% of the league so it’s not like he’s off the radar, he’s just not as well known as some of the other guys. Rooker is having his best season so far but I expect him to decline at some point so he’s a guy I’d look to sell at a high price rather than looking to acquire.

Top Pitcher

Over the past 30 days, the Atlanta Braves have the best ERA in the league at just 0.56, compared to 0.84 for the Chicago Cubs and 0.94 for the Detroit Tigers.

Many fantasy owners are wary of Sale given his injury history, but he is one of the top fantasy pitchers this season. His trade value is at its highest this season, so he won’t be available cheaply in a trade, but you can’t argue with his numbers so far. I would ignore his injury history and do my best to put him on my fantasy team.

Imanaga has been great all season for Chicago. Though he was something of an afterthought in free agency signings, some would argue that Imanaga is the best fantasy pitcher ever. His play will likely regress a bit throughout the season, but he still looks like he could hold his own as a top fantasy pitcher. It won’t be easy to acquire him in a trade, but if it does come to fruition, it will definitely be a big boost for your fantasy team.

Olson certainly isn’t well-liked by fantasy fans despite being on the mound for the past month. Olson is 0-5 this season with a 2.16 ERA. He’s currently owned in about 51% of leagues despite not many pitchers having pitched better than him over the past 30 days. Olson shouldn’t be a streaming option at this point despite not having a winning record. Add him until you have a reason not to put him on the roster.

Kansas City is home to two of the top four strikeout-makers over the past month: leads the way with 44 strikeouts, while Ragans is tied for second with Sale and the Los Angeles Dodgers with 43 each.

Lugo is 7-1 with a 1.93 ERA this season and is owned in just about every league. His performance is bound to drop at some point, so I have him on my list to sell at a high price.

Ragans is coming off a solid 4-3 record with a 3.34 ERA this season, but he’s also striking out an incredible 11 batters per nine innings. He’s also owned in just about every league. He’s a player I’d want to keep if I owned him, as he’s yet to complete a full season in his MLB career. If you don’t put him on your roster, he could be a pretty affordable player to boost your fantasy team for the rest of the season.

Glasnow is one of the top fantasy pitchers in the game, posting a 6-3 record with a 3.09 ERA and 11.7 strikeouts per nine innings. He’s a top 20 player on our trade chart, so he’ll cost a pretty penny to acquire, but as with Imanaga, Glasnow should work great for your team.

Cleveland, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Seattle Mariners are tied with eight saves in the past 30 days.

These three closers are owned by over 95% of leagues. All three have ERAs under 2.00, with Clase at an astounding 0.36. I’m not one to recommend trading closers, but if you do want to do it, Clase is the one to go for, followed by Helsley and Munoz. As for trade prices, they’re the opposite of what I listed, so take that into consideration.
