Many black immigrants come to Minnesota with ambitions and talents that lead to entrepreneurship. They want to be their own boss. They want to build wealth for their families and build assets for their communities. However, many people encounter distinct challenges along the way.
That’s why Sahan Journal is assembling a panel of successful Black entrepreneurs in Minnesota. On May 30, at 6 p.m., Sahan founder and CEO Mukhtar M. Ibrahim and reporter Alfonzo Galván discuss the challenges facing black immigrants becoming Minnesota’s boss. Moderator of a community conversation to explore ways to overcome challenges.
Together we will:
- Discuss their successes and challenges.
- Find out what it’s like to be your own boss.
- Learn about the values ​​that drive your professional goals.
- Explore the economic and cultural environment for Black entrepreneurs in Minnesota.
- Evaluate the resources available to business owners.
- Advice for aspiring entrepreneurs on what they need to know to succeed.
