Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s mean comments about her colleagues’ appearances were characteristically stupid. But when the Georgia Republican holds her butt in the air so regularly, why are Democrats trying to stop her?

You may have seen the video of the House Oversight Committee hearing. There, MTG told Dallas-area Democrat Jasmine Crockett, “I think your false eyelashes are ruining what you’re reading.”

Michelle Obama famously said, “When they go down, we go up.”

Crockett hit back at MTG well, going around and around, not high or low. After the committee chairman, Rep. James Comer, expressed displeasure over his refusal to remove MTG’s remarks from the record, he calmly told the Kentucky Republican: If someone on this committee started talking about someone’s bleached-blond, hunky butch body, it wouldn’t involve personality. correct? “

nice swing. Dismissed MTG as a wild creature not worth directly engaging with. And MTG was left as a symbol of a party whose leader had fallen into mental turmoil.

But a hysterical Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez intervened and made a fuss about her. The New York leftists, who lacked the wit to destroy MTG cleanly, began to squeal, “Well done…!” Blah blah blah. Her lowest point had come down to street talk. “Oh, little girl. ‘Baby, girl, you can’t play with me,'” her fresh-out-of-high-school girlfriend growled in her mean-girl voice.

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman (D) charged that the entire performance could be uglier than “The Jerry Springer Show,” which is known for its staged fights and all-out bad behavior. Of course, AOC then hit back at Fetterman, accusing him of viewing “racism and misogyny” as a “both sides” problem.

Fetterman dismissed her remarks as “ridiculous,” and America is now debating whether the reference to false eyelashes has racist connotations. Crockett is black.

Thus, AOC stole the spotlight from MTG and even Croquet.

News for dumb Democrats: MTG is a Republican problem, not yours. MTG is also an American problem in that it has demonstrated the ability to paralyze Republican House business for weeks. The relief package would replace the Republican-run House with a Democratic-run one. Isn’t that so?

The Wall Street Journal said last month that Greene and her scrappy allies have “no plan other than to disrupt the filibuster and use social media to raise money for their personal political brands.” expressed dissatisfaction.

Republican operative Karl Rove wrote that Greene’s efforts to unseat House Speaker Mike Johnson, along with her rants about the Rothschilds and space lasers, made Republicans “look even crazier.”

The Post recently reported that attendees at a Republican donor conference expressed concern that Greene’s antics “could undermine party unity.”

I liken AOC to MTG, but I don’t equate them. Ocasio-Cortez may be an attention freak who lacks depth on important issues, but at least she makes her legislation part of the show.

But it is unfortunate for Democrats that AOC has used her media savvy to cause political damage to the party’s mainstream and President Joe Biden. Moderate Democrats blamed AOC and other extremists for losing their House majority in 2022. Apparently, their stance on defunding the police didn’t go over well with the crime wave.

The sad truth for the Democratic Party, America, and even the Republican Party is that if the left had cared more about staying in power, MTG would have been nothing more than a crazy sideshow. The team may be in decline, but AOC still struts around as a voice of human decency.

Once again, the Screamers grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory. Smart Democrats will let MTG stay MTG.
