Texas Longhorns No. 1 WR Trends and Other Top 2025 Recruits | Inside Scoop

Texas is a recruiting center duncanville (Texas) Five Star Plus+ Wide Receiver dacorien moore It’s been many years now. When he committed to LSU in a surprise decision last fall, the Longhorns were primarily considered as a candidate for his recruitment.

Over the weekend, he announced he was rescinding his commitment to LSU and would take official visits to Texas, Oregon and Ohio State this summer. And as a result of that decision, the Longhorns are trending heavily in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

InsideTexas.com insider recruiter Justin Wells hasn’t made a pick of his own yet, but he believes the Longhorns are currently at the top with another program.

“I think it’s a Texas vs. Oregon battle right now,” he said Sunday on On3’s Inside Scoop recruiting show. “He’s going to give Ohio State a chance, he’s going to take that official.” [visit] I’ll be heading to Columbus in a few weeks. Moore has many connections to the Longhorns program, including a five-star 2023 signee. Colin SimmonsWells said acquiring Moore was a major part of Texas’ recruiting efforts.

Moore is the No. 3 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to . On3 industry ranking, A weighted average using all four major recruitment media companies. He’s the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 1 player in the state of Texas.

On3’s scouting and rankings team wrote this about the prospect:

“An accomplished receiver with a well-rounded skill set who starred for one of the top high school programs in the state of Texas. Before his junior season he was approximately 5-foot-10.5 and 175 pounds. Top on the track Showing off his speed, he clocked a 10.63 in the 100m as a sophomore, showing a refined and well-rounded skill set as a receiver both on Friday night and in the camp environment. He has long speed that allows him to separate from opponents and grab the top of the defense. He moves quickly after making the catch, uses his vision to find open space, and sometimes cuts back across the field, making acrobatic catches. He has shown reliable and strong hands at the catch point in camp. It was a great second season for the Texas state champion, catching 44 passes for 767 yards and seven touchdowns.
