Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the country’s youth to choose entrepreneurship instead of pursuing jobs.
“Today, Bangladesh is moving forward and we need fresh entrepreneurs,” Hasina said at the opening ceremony of the 11th National Small and Medium Enterprise Industrial Products Fair-2024 held in the capital on Sunday. Ta.
“What I would like to say to young people is that instead of chasing a job just because you got a simple degree, you should become an entrepreneur and become qualified enough to offer jobs to others. That’s all.”
The Prime Minister suggested that youth should take advantage of the opportunities provided by the government to become entrepreneurs.
“We offer special benefits to our start-up programmes. There is a separate budget for that. Young people should take advantage of the various opportunities we offer and move forward. Especially if more women start their own businesses. It should be home.”
Hasina reminded that there is a special demand for handicrafts in the export market.
He emphasized the importance of export diversification. Additionally, she said it was necessary to create local markets by alleviating poverty and increasing people’s purchasing capacity.
The Prime Minister also asked that the country not be harmed just to save money when purchasing chemicals.
“Our country is geographically very small, but the population is huge. Therefore, we need to plan everything properly and in an environmentally friendly way. Of course, we need to set up factories, but We need to maintain good industrial waste management. Please don’t do it to the detriment of yourself and your country just to save a little money on buying chemicals.” she said.
Hasina said the government wants to make the industrial sector environment-friendly.
Those setting up factories must ensure that factory waste is not dumped into rivers and pollutes them, the prime minister said.
“The world economy has stalled due to issues such as the Ukraine-Russia war and the coronavirus pandemic, causing weak exports and imports, inflation and other crises.Bangladesh is also suffering. The Gaza war is another setback for the economy. Therefore, import costs rose and inflation rose. That is only possible if production increases. ”
