Mr. O’Hearn’s journey in the field began in 2002 with a summer internship at Modern Continental Construction, where he gained his first hands-on experience working on the Route 3 expansion project from Burlington, Mass., to Nashua, N.H. . Mr. O’Hearn’s career continued in 2006 when he entered the demolition industry with Testa Corp. After he retired from Testa Corp in 2010, Mr. O’Hearn continued to work at his NASDI and his TDC. TDC was majority owned by Jay Cashman. After retiring from TDC, Mr. O’Hearn returned to his NASDI and served as demolition project manager for the Bayonne Bridge project connecting Bayonne, New Jersey, and Staten Island, New York. Mr. O’Hearn’s strategic vision and operational acumen ultimately led him to Atlantic Coasting Dismantling LLC, a large, large-scale civil demolition contractor in Massachusetts, where he was named Chief Estimator in 2016. He was promoted to vice president in 2021.
Among various notable projects throughout his tenure in the industry, Mr. O’Hearn has been involved in an advanced design-build project known as the I-10 Bayway. The project will ultimately require the demolition of his 14 miles of bridges along I-10 in Mobile. , Alabama. This important initiative highlights his commitment to challenging projects that have a significant impact on infrastructure development and environmental stewardship.
In preparation for his career, Mr. O’Hearn’s academic journey began in 2001 by earning his high school diploma at Stoneham High School. He then earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering from O’Hearn College.
