EY names Adrian Dunkley as this year’s top startup entrepreneur

Adrian Dunkley, CEO of Jamaica-based artificial intelligence developer StarApple AI, has been named the prestigious EY program’s Top EY Entrepreneur of the Year for his outstanding contributions to the field of artificial intelligence and dedication to social entrepreneurship.・Selected as Startup of the Year. .

This is an EY program. Out of more than 100 candidates, he selected four finalists from various backgrounds and startups. The selection process was rigorous and covered various aspects such as the company’s growth, traction, strategy, social entrepreneurship and future goals,” Dunkley said while reflecting on the award, which he received on May 4. He said the main lesson learned from this experience emphasized the importance of consistency in achieving results. With over a decade and a half of experience in the AI ​​field, the CEO believes that new opportunities exist every day to make the world a better place. Winning this award not only recognizes their efforts, but also strengthens StarApple’s position as a pioneer in AI development in Jamaica.

“This recognition is a testament to the great work we do at StarApple,” said Dunkley. “Many years ago, when I started my company, AI was not generally understood and we had a hard time getting companies to understand its potential. It shows you how far you’ve come and motivates you to keep pushing the boundaries.”

He hopes his win will inspire other non-traditional entrepreneurs to pursue their ideas with passion and dedication. This young innovator believes that hard work and dedication to creating value for others can turn dreams into reality.

Looking ahead, Dunkley plans to launch the Genius Project, a non-profit initiative aimed at fostering new sub-sectors in science and technology across Jamaica and beyond. This project embodies the spirit of turning “impossible” into “I can” and fosters community innovation and empowerment.
