Singapore — For singles ready to mingle, A British expat living here is causing a stir on social media with his plans to launch an in-person dating event that uses technology to match participants.

She is known for posting videos about her dating life on TikTok. She had been looking for a partner since coming to Singapore for her job four years ago, The Straits Times reported.
Her LinkedIn profile states that she works as a marketing director for financial services company CardUp.
Dating app troubles
Last year, she started what she named For the #10appsin10weeks campaign, she used different dating apps for 10 weeks.
Gallagher’s experiences with various dating apps, including Coffee Meets Bagel, Hinge, and Tinder, can be seen on her TikTok account.
Despite going on numerous dates, she has not been able to find a suitable partner so far.

The event, dubbed “SinglePore,” is based on a similar event in New York City by dating site Matchbox, where interested singles sign up to join the party.
During the party, they will complete a survey “based on relationship science,” according to Matchbox. It then uses a “Marriage Agreement Algorithm” to help singles decide who is their “best match.”
Mr Gallagher said he had received permission to operate a similar facility in Singapore.
In a series of posts, she chronicles the planning process. The name “Singlepore” comes from a comment by TikTok user “Kandice.”

Some users have expressed concerns about participating in in-person matching sessions.

There were also questions about whether Mr Gallagher intended to pursue the idea.

overwhelming response
Gallagher added a registration link to her TikTok account on Tuesday, inviting interested singles to sign up. Due to the overwhelming response, the registration form crashed shortly after launching.
She suggested using physical games as an icebreaker for the event. For example, she gives all the men bolts and all the women nuts of different sizes, and the participants must find a match.
