This year’s Mill Summit features a new venue and streamlined program.
The event, which was born at the Chase Center, went virtual when the pandemic hit. Mill Summit then returned to in-person events in 2021 with a mini-event at his CSC station, and in recent years moved to Queen where he held his two-day hybrid event.
But while the August 6th event has taken many forms over the years, one thing remains the same. It’s about being an event where people – professionals, entrepreneurs, creators, civil servants – can connect and learn career development strategies.
Mil Summit shortened to 1 day and moved to new venue
Mill Summit, previously a two-day event, will be shortened to one day this year.
“Taking two days off for an event can be demanding,” said Charles Vincent, founder of Spar Impact, the organization behind Mill Summit. Ta. The hope is that by fitting everything into his day, it will be easier for people to approach employers about attendance. .
This streamlined event will be held at Hercules Plaza, located at 1313 N. Market Street. This unique postmodern building was built in the early 1980s as the headquarters for a now-defunct manufacturing company. Currently, the building, which was home to McConnell Johnson’s startup accelerator and co-working space 1313 Innovation in the 2010s, is home to several law firms, a Chancery Market food hall, and an independent movie theater. The Screening Room is the tenant.
Along with the outdoor water sculptures and giant clock, the atrium is a distinctive feature. Mirsa Mitters fills the large space of the event after being decorated with thousands of plants, fig trees, and an indoor waterfall beside a long-defunct escalator.
If you’ve never been to Hercules Plaza, here are some details that aren’t on the schedule. This year it will be a more outdoor event. Hercules Plaza is located in a lush park along the banks of Brandywine Creek, allowing you to take a breather in nature during your event, while still being in the middle of the city. In addition, the Chancery Market has a large outdoor seating area and is an event space in itself.
Popular speakers and beloved hosts return to events
Host Blake “The Brain” Sanders has been a highlight of Mill Summit in recent years. A popular speaker and entrepreneur known for his energetic crowd work, he will return in 2024 to get attendees on their feet between sessions.
The day featured a hearthside gathering with Denny Crumlin of Highmark Health, Evan Ehlers of Philadelphia food donation organization Sharing Excess, and journalist-turned-hip-hop artist Rob Markman. A conversation is scheduled.
Breakout sessions will include workshops on business plan writing, social media networking, motivation, building an arts-based business, and green leadership. Lunch and happy hour will take place at the Chancery Market, and the day’s events will be followed by the 3rd Annual Impact Awards and Leadership Dinner.
Early bird tickets are on sale now.
