Anand Mahindra tagged Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in a post about is a city that is transforming into a modern metropolis. CM @mieknathshinde has ordered a survey of all hoardings. Strict rules must be followed.”

Vijay Varma reshared the video on his Instagram story and wrote, “Oh no.”
Actor Mini Mathur wrote on Instagram Story, “Life in our country has zero value. Whose hoarder is it? Who left it there for so many years? This week’s blame game will not provide answers and will never dismantle the corrupt relationships that allowed the rules to be openly flouted.
“A matter of invisible hoarding (until it falls on people and kills them, of course),” Soni Razdan wrote on his Instagram Story.

Gusty winds and rain lashed the city, causing a huge storage shed to collapse in Ghatkopar’s Pant Nagar area, killing 14 people and injuring 74 others. The dimensions of the storage building were 120 x 120 feet versus the permitted size of 40 x 40 feet.
Surveillance footage that has gone viral shows the huge object destroying the roofs of several cars before it touches the ground. According to reports, the hoarding was built by Ego Media on the premises leased by the Maharashtra Police Housing Department to the Police Welfare Corporation.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the scene and announced a solatium of 500,000 rupees to be paid to the deceased’s relatives. The National Disaster Response Force is carrying out rescue operations at the site of the collapse.
