(FOX40.COM) — A new interactive map aims to help California residents track the impact of community-focused improvements and infrastructure investments across the state.
The digital map was funded by Clean California, which received $643 million as part of the organization’s efforts to “clean, restore, transform, and beautify California’s public spaces,” according to Caltrans. It said 319 projects in the state were listed.

“Clean California” is a multi-billion dollar, multi-year initiative launched by Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2021 to remove trash from state highways and city streets, beautify communities through greening and landscaping, and Or, it prioritizes “using public art to strengthen cultural connections in the community.”
A new mapping tool allows users to search for projects by county, city, zip code or address to find completed or ongoing Clean California projects in their area, Caltrans said .
“Projects are color-coded based on project type, such as local grant projects, beautification projects, and local transportation partnership projects, and each entry also includes a detailed description of the project, cost, and the government agency leading the effort. ” the agency added.
“This new digital application will give Californians a comprehensive list of landscaping facilities across the state and where critical infrastructure funds are being invested,” said Caltrans Director Tony Tavares. says.

For example, when you open a mapping tool and zoom in on Northern California, various projects pop up, including the recently completed Del Rio Trail in Sacramento.
Caltrans says the project cost a total of $16 million, part of which was funded by a $5 million grant, according to data available on the tool.
Caltrans has also released a short video showing how Californians can use the digital mapping tool.
