Spend enough time in the vibrant heart of the United Arab Emirates and you’ll soon believe that any dream can come true. This sentiment rings true for Zoya Sakr, the visionary behind The Flower Society.

As an entrepreneur and mother of three, it’s clear that Sakr’s success is not measured solely by profits, but by the values that resonate in all of her ventures. “Connection is at the heart of everything I do,” she explains. “In a region where tradition and innovation come together, I celebrate creativity and diversity. Whether it’s a bespoke flower arrangement or a digital campaign, every creation taps into the potential within each of us. It’s a sign of sex. In a prosperous city like Dubai, that’s possible.”

Perhaps this spirit is connected with her essence. Her childhood spent in her mother’s garden in the Lebanese village of Bentael, where her father established a protected park, instilled in her a deep love and respect for nature, and continuity. It instilled an understanding that if you do, beautiful things will happen.

From sourcing ethical materials to fostering a supportive environment for our teams, transparency and empathy are woven into every aspect of Sakr’s business, with great attention to integrity. “My team is my family,” she reflects. “Their passion and dedication brings our work to life. They work tirelessly to deliver perfection throughout every project and thankfully feel great fulfillment in our growth. I am deeply grateful and proud of that.”

Zoya Sakr, who co-founded OLN, a comprehensive network of Arabic-language digital magazines, in 2012, has a strong talent for driving growth. This tenacity extends to The Flower Society, which grew 30% year-on-year and recorded 300% growth in its 2024 peak season. That’s not all. Zoya hints at conceptualizing and building more businesses in the region in the coming years.

But Zoya’s journey goes beyond the realm of business. It is a celebration of the endless possibilities that exist in this region. “In this land of opportunity, success is genderless and Arab women have the resilience and creativity to forge their own bright path,” she asserts. “This is a place full of energy and possibility, where those who dare to dream are quickly rewarded.” Through her efforts, Zoya hopes to share her journey with aspiring entrepreneurs, especially I hope it will be an inspiration to other Arab women who are open-minded and pursue their goals.

In a world where success is often measured by numbers and accolades, Zoya Thakur reminds us that true prosperity lies in the unwavering pursuit of excellence, community, and embracing one’s heritage. I’ll give it to you. As her story unfolds, it becomes clear that Zoya Thakur is not just building a business. She is building her legacy.
