Unaware of the cat’s stowaway, the package was taken to a local UPS store and shipped to an Amazon warehouse in Riverside, California. It wasn’t until late that evening that the Clarks realized Galina was missing, and an intense search began in the neighborhood and surrounding area.
For seven days, the family searched the area and enlisted the help of friends and family to find their beloved pet. Just as hope began to fade, a ray of light appeared on April 17 when she received a text message and phone call from a veterinarian’s office in rural Utah, The New York Times reported.
It became clear that Galina had been discovered. California after staff at an Amazon facility found her trapped inside a return package. The adhesive on her one of the box seals had come loose, allowing air flow, which was critical to Galina’s unexpected journey.
