Each year, Women’s Entrepreneurship Week brings together Milwaukee’s female and nonbinary business owners and professionals for a week of workshops, keynote events, and networking.
The annual series is themed “Building the Table” and will run from May 6th to 10th. The series celebrates women who create their own space rather than “claiming a seat at the table.” their table,” according to its website.

The mission behind this year’s theme is “Nursing connections, fostering innovation, and fostering growth within our communities.”
Stephanie Melnick, founder of She Stands Tall, which organizes WEW, said the week grew out of a speaker series where women entrepreneurs from the community share their stories.
“We’re really excited about this year’s daytime event and our partnership with the Charles Allis Museum,” Melnick said. “All of the daytime events we have planned will take place at the museum and will give you access to the entire museum. What’s really exciting is that people will be able to see art while learning about different topics related to entrepreneurship. is.”
Melnick said she was looking forward to the energy and atmosphere of the event and the opportunity to learn from other women.
“We get that information on a small scale every month at speaker series events,” she said. “But the feeling of people genuinely lifting each other up, learning from each other, and asking for help and support. For me, that energy and inspiration is what really excites me.”
Each day will include two workshops in the morning, at least two workshops in the afternoon, and an evening keynote event. More than 65 women and non-binary speakers are expected to participate this week.
