
JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation’s Celia Ebanks sniffed the hemp soap wrapped in disposable soap wrappers, while Team Limpid’s Raheem Jagdeen looked closely. This green innovation developed by Team Limpid earned the team his second place award, the Most Developed Prototype award, and a $200,000 cash prize.

The Jamaican Institute of Technology, through its Joanne Duncan School of Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership (JDSEEL), recently hosted the finals of a business model competition at its Papine-based campus. This event is designed as a platform for student entrepreneurs to grow by providing them with the resources they need to take their ideas from concept to full-fledged business. In addition, the contest finalists were awarded his four category awards:
• International market potential
• Most developed prototype
• Most innovative venture
• Best Speaker.
The JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation and the Development Bank of Jamaica have supported this event for many years as the organization has a mission to encourage entrepreneurship.
