CompTIA Announces New AI Essentials and Enhanced Series
IT training organization CompTIA has announced details of its new Essentials and Expansion series, a new learning and certification program aimed at developing and maintaining AI skills.
The new series focuses on AI skills competencies in four AI technology career fields and roles: software development, cybersecurity, systems operations (SysOps), and data analytics. and Prompt Engineering and AI Systems Architecture, the organization said in a release.
CompTIA says the Essentials series, scheduled to roll out in July 2024, will be applicable to all occupations, “both technology-specific and adjacent technology-dependent occupations.” We will cover the following:
- AI Perspectives.
- Available AI tools and how best to use them.
- AI challenges and how to address them.
- Benefits of AI for improving creativity and work.and
- Future impact of AI.
The Expanded Series goes beyond the basics and focuses on developing advanced skills and technology in specific job roles for those with CompTIA Plus (+) or Pro certifications in the following areas:
- Security Engineer (Sec AI+).
- Penetration tester (PenTest AI+);
- Security Analyst (CySA AI+).
- Data Analyst (Data AI+);
- System operations (AI SysOp+);
- Technical support, network operations (AI Scripting+).
- AI System Architect (AI Architect+).and
- Prompt Engineer (AI Prompt+).
CompTIA said future enhancement releases will “focus on skill sets to take full advantage of AI in system operations, technical support, AI system architecture, and rapid engineering.”
These upcoming releases start with Cyber Engineering (Security+). analysis (CySA+); and penetration testing (PenTest+), the organization said.
