The first event in American Bazaar’s Startup Bazaar series will be held on Saturday, April 20th at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business.
This event is held in partnership with the Smith School’s Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship.
The Startup Bazaar series is tailored to early-stage entrepreneurs, potential startup founders, and MBA students as a platform to network, learn, and gain insights from seasoned industry leaders who have achieved notable success through entrepreneurship. Designed to work.

This series provides participants with a unique opportunity to connect with angel investors, venture capitalists, industry influencers, CEOs, and top executives from a variety of companies. Through a series of panel discussions, keynotes, and networking sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to gather valuable insights, exchange ideas, and establish meaningful connections within the startup ecosystem.
This event is open to the public and there is no charge to attend.
The inaugural Startup Bazaar event will feature three panels and five fireside chats. The panel for v-events is as follows:
1) “Funding from angels, family friend networks, and venture capital”
Moderated by Hina Mehta, University Program Director, Commercialization Division, Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation, this panel will delve into startup funding and discuss strategies for securing funding and navigating the funding landscape. provides valuable insight. 2) “Launch a startup with low capital and bootstrap”
Moderated by Juhi Naithani, Principal at bGlobal Consulting, this panel features experienced founders who have successfully launched and scaled startups with minimal capital. They will share first-hand experience and practical advice on bootstrapping strategies, lean startup principles, and alternative funding sources. Startup Bazaar will feature five fireside chats presented in chronological order.

4) “Secret of success”
Ampcus President Salil Sankaran shares insights from his entrepreneurial journey and provides valuable perspective on driving revenue growth, mergers and acquisitions, and maintaining organizational excellence. The discussion will be led by Hood College Dean Mahesh Joshi, Ph.D.
5) “Insights from successful startup founders”
Salim Shah, founder of Sarfez, delves into his entrepreneurial journey and shares valuable insights and lessons learned along the way. Moderated by Dr. Mahesh Joshi, this chat promises to provide inspiration and practical advice for aspiring entrepreneurs.
