houston – The search continues for a Houston man who runs an auto restoration business. He is accused of defrauding his customers of more than $100,000.

Jesse Guadalupe Montez is charged with two counts of theft and one count of money laundering. He is currently wanted by authorities.

Montez owns a vehicle repair and maintenance business called American Vision Auto, according to court records.

Records show Montez defrauded multiple customers by collecting tens of thousands of dollars from jobs he never performed and sales of vehicles he never owned. Records show that Mr. Montez intentionally misrepresented his ability to sell and offer numerous classic cars.

According to court documents, Montez defrauded the accused victims of approximately $105,000. Authorities believe there may be other victims.

Records show this is not the first time Montez has been charged with such a crime. He currently has a similar lawsuit pending in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area.

Mr. Montez has previously been convicted or charged with theft in Fayette, Austin and Waller counties.

KPRC 2’s Bryce Newberry covers this story, with more tonight at 10 p.m. If you have business with Montes or American Vision Auto, please email his Bryce at Bnewberry@kprc.com.
