When an NBA player has a bad game in the playoffs, even if it’s a four-time champion like Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson, social media can be filled with jokes making fun of them. expensive.

So when Thompson scored 0 points on 0-of-10 shooting in Golden State’s season-ending play-in loss to the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, Twitter users took over the site with jokes about “bricks.” It was full. Like this one from @LakeShowYo.

Obviously, this assumed that Thompson’s “throw a brick” jab was literal, so X (previously Twitter’s new AI-powered Trends tab, which attempts to pull and summarize tweets from trending topics) ) was confused.

Post-game trends tab headlines are now larger. “Klay Thompson accused of bizarre brick vandalism”

“In a bizarre turn of events, NBA star Klay Thompson has been charged with destroying multiple homes with a brick in Sacramento,” the synopsis reads. “Authorities are investigating the allegations after several people reported damage to their homes, including windows being smashed by bricks.”

“Klay Thompson has not yet released a statement regarding this accusation. The incident has shaken up the community, but no injuries have been reported. The motive behind the property damage charges remains unclear. ”

Clearly, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence tools haven’t exactly honed his humor detector.

As for Klay Thompson, he’s obviously not in any legal trouble, but the Warriors star is pending free agency and will hit the open market after the worst game of his career.
