Fishbowl CEO Adam Ochstein is an advocate of the enduring power of email marketing and data-driven personalization. Through his insights and work, Ochstein is reimagining how restaurants connect with customers and leverage technology to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and loyalty.

“Email marketing is still very important for restaurants,” Ochstein told “Restaurant Influencers” host Sean Wohl of Cali Barbecue Media. “If you’re receiving an email from a restaurant and it’s well-written, comprehensive, or has a relevant offer, you’re good to go.”

In 2023, Fishbowl introduced a new CRM and marketing automation platform, Delightable. For Ochstein, this represents a pivotal advancement in guest data management for the restaurant industry.

The Fishbowl team recognized the fragmented nature of customer data across various platforms, including point-of-sale systems, reservation databases, and online ordering portals, and sought to consolidate this data into a comprehensive, actionable resource. “If I were a marketer, I would want to know this single version of the truth for all of my guest data,” Ochstein asserted. “Let Delightable/Fishbowl be his CRM or system of record for all guest data.”

Inspired by his experience as a Marriott Bonvoy member, Ochstein hopes to provide that level of personalized service to restaurant guests through Delightable by leveraging customer data to predict preferences and improve the experience. I am. Ochstein believes that by leveraging the simplest insights, such as seating preferences and dining habits, restaurants can create customized experiences that resonate with individual guests.
