Philadelphia ‘reopens’ under new order – NBC10 Philadelphia

Philadelphia Mayor Sherrell Parker aims to make it easier for companies to do business in the city with a new executive order aimed at making it faster and easier to obtain the necessary permits, allowing businesses of all sizes to provides guidance and support.

The executive order, called the PHL Open for Business Initiative, also establishes the Mayor’s Business Action Team.

“From day one, I have expressed a commitment to strategic interventions to address economic disparities, strengthen business activity, and build an equitable economy that makes the most of the talent and potential of residents across Philadelphia.” The PHL Open for Business initiative is a key pillar of PHL, and Parker said in a statement about the new initiative, “We are delivering on that promise and making progress.” “We are creating new ways for businesses to interact with City Hall by cutting through the maze of complex and overlapping regulations that exist throughout the region. “As One Philly, a United City, we are creating new ways for businesses to interact with City Hall. We are working together to foster economic prosperity that benefits everyone who lives, works, and does business in Delphia.”

In a statement about the initiative, the Mayor’s Office said the executive order will help establish “a business-friendly government that reduces regulatory burden, accelerates approval timelines, and further streamlines the city’s permitting process.” He said it was intended to.

The order also changes the name of the city’s Business Services Department to the Mayor’s Business Action Team.

Parker’s office said in a statement that the changes “underscore the mayor’s commitment to all city departments working together to solve the challenges faced by individual businesses.” .

The initiative will go into effect once it receives Parker’s signature, and the mayor’s office said he will be provided with quarterly reports that include service progress, feedback from businesses, ongoing projects and other information. That’s what it means.
