LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – NBC News spoke to four supporters of Trump and Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake about the hush money trial, and all said the trial was politically motivated. He said he was thinking about it.
Ryan Skinner, 52, was asked what he thought about the former president potentially being held for two months in court, and he placed the blame for the trial on Trump’s political opponents.
“Well, I think it’s disgusting that his political opponents are using the justice system against him,” he said. “This is talking about communism in the Soviet area, but if you look at history, they’ve done that to their adversaries. I think that’s wrong and disgusting. ”
Dustin Heiser, 36, said the hush money trial shows Trump is being “specialized” because it’s “kind of crazy” to see a former president accused. insisted.
“So it’s all public knowledge how much money the president and senators receive after they leave office,” Heiser said. “So as far as the content, insider information, stocks, etc., it’s all public knowledge. Heiser added that he believes Trump was elected because he is “standing up for what is wrong.”
Jeannie Roe, 63, said she believes the legal battles facing Trump are an attempt to distance him from his re-election campaign.

Cameron Link, 40, similarly called Trump’s trial unprecedented and argued that the hush-money scandal was politically motivated.
“This is the first time in American history that we are experiencing a serious political problem,” he said. “And I think this is much more politically driven than it is driven by actual criminal activity, if that makes sense.”
